Q: How do I register an account to post?
A: The login link on the homepage is only for admins/mods, regular users do not require an account to post (nor can they register/request one).
Q: Why is there no list of boards on the nav bar?
A: You may add boards to the nav bar individually by click the 'star' icon next to the board name when you are visiting the board.
Q: How can I easily view all the images in a thread?
A: When in thread, select the Gallery Mode icon (three overlayed squares), then use the arrow keys to scroll through images, ESC to exit. Alternatively, download a plugin like Imagus (Chrome Firefox) to enable view-on-hover.
Q: How can hide a thread that I don't want to see?
A: Click the circle-with-an-X to the left of any thread's subject to hide it.
Q: I see things being shared as a string of characters, what do?
A: You might want to look into b64 encoding.
Q: How can I help support the site?
A: BBW-Chan is entirely supported by ads. If you want to contribute, please disable your adblocker if you have one. We will never serve pop-ups, pop-unders, or autoplay ads to our users.
Q: Why does the site look like ass?
A: Try changing the theme from 'Default' to 'Dark' in the nav bar.
Q: How can I stay updated on specific threads?
A: Click the 'eye' icon to the left of a thread, you will then be notified of updates via the 'watched threads' area in the nav bar.
Q: What is an R9K error?
A: Some boards have de-duplication enabled, meaning if you attempt to post an image that is already in any thread on that board you will receive this 'error' which is an in-joke by the developer.
Q: A super popular thread with 400+ replies disappeared?
A: Threads which hit the bump limit (400 replies) AND the archive limit (420 replies) will be auto-archived. The archives are accessible from the homepage.
Q: How do I report spam, CP, rule breaking, etc?
A: Click the 'Post Menu' icon (small arrow pointing right) on a thread/reply , select 'Report' and fill out the form.
To use a tripcode, add a # in your name. After the #, add the password for the tripcode.
The server will apply a hash to the password and display the hashed password.
To use a secure tripcode, add ## in your name and a password. A secure tripcode will generate a random text to be displayed that will only be used if your password matches.
If you wish to display your global or board role when posting, you can put #rs in your name, like a tripcode, case insensitive. This will prevent you from using a tripcode.
You can also enable an always use role signature rule in your account settings.
When posting you can use some tools that will enhance its text in HTML.
If you add a > in the start of a line, it will greentext the text until it finds a new line.
Example:
>le ebin upboat :^) -> >le ebin upboat :^)
If you write >> and then a number to a posting, it will create a link to this post in the board you are posting and add a tooltip with the post preview if you have javascript enabled.
>>50 -> >>50
If you write >>> and then add a board name between slashes, it will create a link to the board.
>>>/cancer/ -> >>>/cancer/
It is also possible to quote posts from another boards. Just add the posting number after the board name.
>>>/cancer/50 -> >>>/cancer/50
