I hate how devs focus more on writting pages of useless text instead of the characters and there sequences. sure a game has to have a story, but I dont need 2 pages to describe smth that can be explained in a couple of sentences. Everyone is gonna skip the text cuz they dont care about the story, but to see the character get bigger. It just ends just games having to take months to update and result is just 20 min where you spam click to skip the text and only see a new image or two.
>>78719 A lack of writing experience will do that. I've seen and edited scrips for various things (including VN dialogue) that are WAY longer and wordier than they need to be. That, plus way too much telling and not enough showing. Quest games are often better at that than renpy VNs in my experience.

Downloade the snackrooms game and.....at this point, text games are beyond, beyond lame. Even the simple free chatbot over at janitorai is a better writer than 85% of degens who write this game. If you splurge like $5 for deepseek API acces and manage to not make it scarily insane (see img), you can specify your own WG game in the prompt and it's going to keep track of variables and write incredibly good text. Yes, these better LLMs can follow rules. Even JLLM, the shitty free LLM can extrapolate gains from text cues/time passed about half the time. I'm saying this bc we're probably dead in a year or two after some of those nihilist maniacs uses an AI to hack cancer-giving-covid. So have some fun, not like you're getting laid before then.

>>78980 Ok here's the issue witht that. Any game using 3D models is using pre-rendered scenes made into images for you. These images are often high res and unlike repeated assets and textures they're not ones that can be produced as rapidly and take up a lot of space. This is why most visual novels with 3D models have less images also if they did try to do them as 3D models then that adds motion and clipping issues which most of these creators edit out of images or re-render them multiple times. Added to this, to use the 3D models themselves would require the game to render them which would require more powerful hardware thus they wouldn't run on your potato and we'd be having people moaning about optimisation all the time. To be clear images are nice to have but well done a text story can be as good in my view (as an idiot presently making something text based mostly)

Above gods was recently updated, tbh it's one of these games where you can see and feel effort of dev, but it's overal shit anyway. I had problem with understanding some dialogues (either due to typos, or overall writing that sounded like made by 10 years old child that is still learning english), fights could be shorter if attacks of enemies/party members were not lasting like 8-10 seconds, most of consumables provide negative status effect (being drunk), so you either need to use more expensive alternatives, or use water after becoming drunk (water is consumable item that removes a few negative status effects) I'm sad, because i'd love some good quality weight gain oriented game with rules/classes taken from dnd 5.0

This is again why I support Early access 1 time payed releases because then devs can take longer and not worry about losing subscribers all the time as they've already taken peoples money.

There was another WG rgp maker game called "Epic Proportions: Oppai Island"; this one had some good fetish content but was ultra grindy so I dropped it after part 1 of the story. Some Bullshit had a very good balance with the grind but it was lacking in WG content. So, Re:Roundbound still remains my favorite WG rpg maker game.
how do i get beths sandwich ending in big aspirations? I got the ending without getting rid of the brothers and gave the sandwich to 8 girls but then as soon as i do i get the scene of her accepting her weight gain?
>>79074 While grinding increases your hp/mana by noticeable amount, i'd say that stats like defense/attack change so little (or don't change at all? I did not try to compare them before/after levelling up) that i did not feel any advantage after grinding a few levels in the area of early game, when controlling first character. I'd say that most important thing there is spending money on new equipment and consumables, while new levels are mostly for learning skills.

Also I hate it when devs add Visual Novel mechanics into RPG Maker game. I remember in the previous game jam there was a Magical girl Valkyrie WG game in which the dev decided to add Visual novel grind alongside RPG maker grind, combining 2 grinds together, it was such a mess. Also do you know about "Vale City", that was a really good game with fantastic WG Art but the massive grind ruined that game for me. You have to constantly fight and fight and fight to level up your girls and the story focus was so slow.

Legitimately don't know how people here think writing isn't important or even the most important part of WG games. Like having stories, characters, and descriptions is the whole fucking point. Images are nice too ofc but if I wanted to jerk it to some shitty AI art I would just do that and skip playing a game. Devs and writers who understand the interior psychology of fat fetishes are always going to produce hotter descriptions and scenarios than AI which is just trying to regurgitate random words with no actual intent.
