It sounds like you're getting the order of events wrong. Either that, or there's been some incident I'm unaware of.
From my understanding, the order of events is:
2018/2019, Life gets busy and thus Gnibbles has an extremely inconsistent schedule to the point where they'll only post if its a trade or gift with one of their friends. Says they'll only get back to posting regularly if they'll be sure they actually can (Spoiler alert, this never happens)

People notice a other artists and writers having cropped or low quality never before seen Gnibbles pics for their projects, like Cooly52's banner or a Sirwales thumbnail. But Gnibbles periods of activity get more and more infrequent so it takes a year to actually these pictures in proper resolution, leading to one last final bit of activity in 2020 where he posted some more collab stuff

2021-2022, Once in a blue moon, in random places, mysterious new Gnibbles drop out of nowhere, but they too are also extremely infrequent. Some people making the odd thread for Gnibbles stuff every now and then

Early 2023, More out of nowhere one off collab pics show up here and there for various writers stories, eventually leading to Sicstories unintentionally dropping a whole heap of new Gnibbles art when he tries to advertise his OC, vindicating the gnibbles threads because there actually finally was new stuff

2023-Early 2024, More and more new Gnibbles art gets dropped into threads out of nowhere, the most we've ever gotten. Around the same time there was also tons of drops for art from Darkfireballz too, leading many to believe that the slob cabal may have been real after all
>
2024, The new Gnibbles art slows to a crawl. Coincidentally the same time the "Slob cabal" that "never existed" shuts down. Only ever getting anything when Sicstories posts the edited Fire Emblem portraits Gnibbles did relating to Sicstories paid project that he never ended up finishing

2025-2026, The Marianne and Manuela pics finally drop, but, apart from that, Stuffedwaves getting a new profile picture of a cropped new Gnibbles image that we’ll probably never see the full pic of, and the Nanako Dojima drop, the well has seemingly been dried up. Gnibbles created bluesky account despite never posting on it, so he’s clearly not fully inactive, but given that all the people that he would do art for, like Fraap, LkJ0987654321, Weeblord, and Sicstories are also inactive as all hell for varying reasons (Mostly Troon related), he likely doesn’t have the reasons to make the occasional art like he did in the late 2010’s and early 2020’s
Also the doxxing shit was one singular edgy dipshit and everyone clowned on him, including the people who in the same thread were expressing frustrations with Gnibbles never sharing their stuff. Gnibbles was radio silent long, long, LONG before that dude tried to stir a fuss
