Yeah, there have been a handful of good girdle/corset stories, my favorite of which was Kim's Weight Gain. Unfortunately, that writer deleted their account (I had the story saved thankfully). scribe1950 also had a handful of good stories along these lines, but they deleted a lot of their works too.

It's live action rather than animated so idk if this is the right place for it, but I just stumbled upon this 日本ドラマ Rebound 2011 リバウンド Eng Sub Ep1 on youtube. I'm not going to link it, but I think you can find it by searching that. It's a pretty good live action adaptation of this scenario. The main girl starts gaining weight and hides it with a corset, which bursts during a photoshoot. The fat suit she wears isn't great but the makeup on her face looks decent.
