This is going to sound like a Nathan Fielder level of effort but If your small shit town is near any decently-sized town there is probably a leadership group run by the Chamber of Commerce, probably called "Leadership [insert town]."
They basically meet up once a month for a year and do a service project. Sounds strange but stay with me. There are basically only three types of people in it: realtors, people sent by whatever large companies are near so they can add it to their "giving back" page (key is they tend to send low level youngish people who can actually spare the time and may be fat-ish), and people from local government/NPOs. Last one is the real key. Odds are very good some cute very fat chick from a nonprofit is in that cohort. If not, just stop showing up.
You'll get a whole year of guaranteed opportunities to try and hit it off, then do what comes naturally or let it fizzle, who gives a shit
