An alternative could be if the lower arm is so overflowing with fat that the fingers are burried. Sometimes you see that feet become engulfed in fat from the ankles, but I haven't seen that with the lower arms. What could be more realistic is that the arm becomes too heavy to lift. Something similar happened with Mayra Rosales who was accused of beating her nephew to death. Investigators concluded that this was not possible because her arms were so heavy that it was impossible to still have enough force to beat someone.
