Holy heck! What a great find and interesting story, but also what a great nostalgia trip! Imagine, all this would soon have been so hard to fit behind that desk… To think she’d go from to an innovator of the blob style SSBBW. She was awesome and so unique too.

Bbwwiki says she got up to 714 lbs, quite insance considering that she was only 5' tall. She featured on a Japanese TV show where they weighed while naked and examined her rather closely. An interesting watch, I'm sure it shocked many Japanese at the time. I don't think I have but I hope someone has it to hand to share.

Late 80s early 90s America had the best obesity aesthetic ever. All these enormous blobs in (now dated) office wear. Absolute dreamscape. Love any TV coverage of super obese from this time. Maybe the opulence of American culture at that time was just supreme but I feel like we have really receded from the decadence, even during the height of the "obesity crisis". A few of the images here reminds me of one of my favourites - a segment on John McAfee's company. One of the women working with him is this enormous blob who can barely squeeze through the doors. As we'd come to find out, McAfee was having freak offs with the staff, and from appearances, she was a very willing participant.
